RFC Swim Academy: Swimming isn’t just fun, it’s a skill that can save your life! Space is limited, so enroll in our popular group swim lessons today! Testing is conducted during the first class to ensure all students are in the correct level. Students advance during the session if skills are passed. Note: Some students may need more than one session to complete level requirements. There are no make-up classes for absences.

Level Descriptions

Little Fishies (Ages 6m-2yr)

Introduces basic water adjustment skills such as supported floating, gentle submersion, and basic movement in the water with parent assistance.

Little Fishies (Ages 3-4yr)

Introduces breath control through bubble blowing, arm scooping, and kicking with parent assistance. Builds basic movement and comfort in the water.

Level 1 (Age 5-17)

Covers water safety, breath holding, front and back floating, and basic arm and leg movements.

Level 2 (Age 5-17)

Develops unassisted front and back kicking, arm scoops and body position control.

Level 3 (Age 5-17)

Combines arm and leg movements to introduce freestyle, backstroke, and elementary backstroke.

Level 4 (Age 5-17)

Refines freestyle and backstroke while introducing rotary breathing, breaststroke, and sidestroke.

Adult Level 1-2 (Age 18+)

Introduces water adjustment, breath control, floating, and basic stroke techniques.

Adult Level 3-4 (Age 18+)

Breaks down freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and sidestroke with a focus on rotary breathing.
